In the past few years the buzz around the Cryptocurrency and Blockchain phenomenon has grown exponentially and seeped into many facets of our lives.
It was only a matter of time before artists would begin to explore the world of cryptocurrency and contribute to the discourse surrounding it.
One artist who has been delving into the realms of the cryto-world is Irish conceptual artist and photographer Kevin Abosch.
Rising to fame with his portraits of celebrities and Silicon Valley moguls against plain black backgrounds, Abosch’s curiosities have been long tied to the value humans place on things.
"At the end of the day, I'm an ontologist, concerned with matters of identity and existence. Art and science is just the means to an end."

On the 14th February 2018, Abosch took the bold plunge to sell a piece of artwork on the blockchain.
The piece of art was sold for a total of $1M. The sale was divided between 10 collectors who split the cost evenly using cryptocurrency.
Forever Rose is an ERC20 token called ROSE on the Ethereum blockchain, which can be divided up.
The artist donated the proceeds to CoderDojo Foundation, which offers free programming classes for children and teens.
Abosch made headlines again this year when he sold another piece titled ‘YELLOWLAMBO’ 2018.
The work references the hash tag ‘lambo’, which is a commonly used abbreviation of Lamborghini, and a declaration of success amongst the cryptocurrency community.
For YELLOWLAMBO Abosch created another token, named YLAMBO. He then turned it into a psychical yellow neon sculpture that is made up of 42 characters that represent a cryptocurrency address.
