Permanent Collection

Founded in 1983, Taipei Fine Arts Museum is Taiwan’s first museum dedicated to modern and contemporary art is known as the official art museum of Taipei. 

Taipei Fine Arts Museum strives to raise the public’s participation in and understanding of modern art, hoping to create a society with aesthetic and cultural perception and appreciation.

The Museum’s collection is compiled of nearly 5,000 representative and creative pieces from notable local and international artists.

The wide range of pieces characterizes the Museum’s dedication to relaying the art history of Taiwan to viewers. 

Taipei Fine Arts Museum’s extensive and impressive collection includes a wide range of media from ceramics to paintings and photographs.

In addition to the Museum’s impressive permanent collection there are temporary, themed exhibitions that allow for there to be a narrative with new historical interpretations.

These temporary exhibitions allow for viewers to have a new perspective on the permanent collection, allowing for an open conversation of the works’ mechanism and meaning.
