Jerwood Makers Open was launched in 2010 to recognise and promote the significance of making and materials within contemporary visual arts.
This seventh edition of Jerwood Makers Open brings together new commissions by artists Mark Corfield-Moore, Forest + Found (Max Bainbridge and Abigail Booth), Lucie Gledhill, Bethan Lloyd Worthington and Tana West.
Mark Corfield-Moore (b. 1988, Bangkok) lives and works in London. He graduated with a Postgraduate Diploma from Royal Academy Schools in 2018 and with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in 2015.
In 2018 he exhibited in his first solo exhibition, At Your Service, at Wolfson College, Cambridge. Selected group exhibitions include: Out of Office, PADA, Lisbon, 2019; Arc, Kristian Day Gallery, London (2018); and Layered Narratives, l’étrangère Gallery, London (2016). In 2018 he was awarded the Tiffany & Co. x Outset Studiomakers Prize.

Forest + Found
Forest + Found are a London-based partnership between artists Max Bainbridge (b. 1991, London) and Abigail Booth (b. 1991, London). Max Bainbridge graduated in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art in 2013, where he specialised in photography and sculpture. Abigail Booth graduated in Fine Art at Byam Shaw School of Art in 2010, the San Francisco Art Institute in 2012 and Chelsea College of Art in 2013, where she specialised in painting and sculpture.
Selected solo exhibitions include: Walking the Line, Oriel Myrddin, Camarthen (2019) and Ruthin Craft Centre, Ruthin (2018); Outland, Egg, London (2018). Selected group exhibitions include: Levelling Traditions, Make Hauser & Wirth Somerset, Bruton (2018), Collect Open, Saatchi Gallery, London (2018).

Bethan Lloyd Worthington
Bethan Lloyd Worthington (b. 1982, Birmingham) lives and works in London. She graduated with a BDes in 3D Design at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2006 and a Postgraduate Degree in Ceramics and Glass at Royal College of Art in 2010.
Selected solo and group exhibitions include: Verso Nuovi Canoni (Towards New Canons), ICA Milano, Italy (2019); Art Night Open Walthamstow with SHELL LIKE, London (2019); Oriel Davies Open, Newtown (2018); Windswept Baby, Victoria & Albert Museum, London (2018); and Shell-Lit Siambr, Sidney Cooper Gallery, Canterbury (2017). During 2016-17 she was Ceramics Resident at Victoria & Albert Museum.

Tana West (b. 1981, Cambridge) lives and works in London. She graduated with a Postgraduate Degree in Ceramics and Glass at Royal College of Art in 2014 and with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art: Sculpture at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in 2003. Selected solo and group exhibitions include: [UN]WOVEN, Material Lab, London Craft Week (2018); British Ceramics Biennial, Stoke on Trent (2017); and Land + Water, Royal Fort House, University of Bristol (2016). In 2017 she was selected as the winner of the British Ceramics Biennial Award.

The exhibition launched at Jerwood Space, London, before embarking on a national tour across the UK to the National Centre for Craft and Design, Lincolnshire (5 October 2019 – 19 January 2020), Manchester Art Gallery, Manchester (1 February 2020 – 4 October 2020), 20-21 Visual Arts Centre, Scunthorpe (17 October 2020 – 2 January 2021) and Torre Abbey, Torquay (January – March 2021).
