Before Bong Joon-Ho’s Parasite was a critically acclaimed film, the movie’s inventive plot was just a series of storyboards.
Drawn by Bong, these storyboards contain camera directions, dialogue, and staging notes, that allowed him to fully imagine the film before getting anywhere near the set.
After Parasite swept the most recent award-season, Grand Central Publishing picked up the movie's storyboards and has since transformed them into a graphic novel.
The book, 304 pages in length, has already been released in South Korea and is set to be released in English on May 19th.
This new insight into Bong’s approach to the movie-making process will appeal to film aficionados around the world.
