3 tigers and their 3 trainers submerged in a pool for a photograph

The Tigers Next Door

At Myrtle Beach Safari in South Carolina, USA, Kevin Antle and staff pose with his tigers.

At this particular location, tourists pay upwards of US $399 to play with, take photos of, and tour the tiger facility.

In his photo series, “The Tigers Next Door,” Winter captures the realities of tigers living in captivity in the US.

From roadside zoos to tiger breeders, between 5,000 and 10,000 exotic pets are kept in confinement today.

Although a federal Big Cat Public Safety Act has been proposed, there is still a wide gap in protecting these animals that currently exist all over the country.
