Accidentally Wes Anderson

Accidentally Wes Anderson

Famous director, Wes Anderson, has a trademark aesthetic throughout all of his films: a pastel surrealist dreamscape that is both widely recognized and widely imitated.

The thread, “Accidental Wes Anderson,” began on Reddit a few years ago, but has since been adopted and transformed on various social media accounts.

These images reflect life imitating auteur, seemingly ripped from Anderson’s storyboards.

German photographer, Robert Gotzfried, roots the majority of his photography in symmetry, creating an Anderson-esque effect.

His 2019 series focused on the most visually exciting bowling alleys in Southern Germany, resulting in images that evoke this director’s style.
