Age is Just a Number: Tony Hawk at 50

Tony Hawk is arguably the most iconic figure in skateboarding.

And at 50, he’s continuing to push the sport forward, landing new tricks and defying the test of time as a household name.

Last year, Hawk celebrated this birthday milestone by releasing a video that shows him re-landing fifty of the tricks he helped innovate.

Hawk’s continued legacy within the realm of skating has remained consistent, even as different elements of the sport have begun to change.

In recent years, for instance, contemporary artists have begun to collaborate with skateboarding companies to create designs that have been used on various decks.

Click below to read about how a group of 130 skateboards was recently the highest-grossing piece at an art auction.
