It is a curious situation that the sea, from which life first arose should now be threatened by the activities of one form of that life. But the sea, thought changed in a sinister way, will continue to exist; the threat is rather to life itself.

I want my painting to make a statement, to be timeless, exquisite, of indeterminate origin, the tone beautifully considered with an atmosphere of wonder and intrigue, giving an emotional as well as a visual connection, to look stunning hanging on a wall providing enjoyment for many years to come.

The northern light and skies and their unique and ever changing design have always inspired me and are the basis of my artistic work. The night and specially the sky at night, with the moon hiding behind the clouds and creating this magical atmosfear are very inspiring moments for me. This painting is a tribute to Lapland, to the savage swedish landscapes, to my home country. It is an expression of my admiration and fascination to the Northern skies and the silence of the nights in Laponia. I experienced the search for this particular light this summer and it was a magical experience. I felt like an explorer, a gold digger, a tresure hunter… Every night I went out in the woods, hopfull and patient, looking for the magic aurora borealis. This fantastic feeling of discovering something new and rare is for me what makes life so interesting. Pigments applied on stretched canvas and satin varnish finish.

These series of works based on Bombay, tell narratives of a city through its architectural history, following a similar colour palette of browns, greys, copper, blue & white. The blue shapes & colour represent the slums, being synonymous with the tarp covers that make the roofs of the slum housing. Specs of orange painted in some of the works are symbolic of the political influence in the city. Several of the works such as 'Gates to Heaven' are about gated communities that lure people with tag lines such as "Reside in new heights of happiness". Being self-sufficent like small kingdoms they hide the poverty, disparity and filth that surrounds them and promise a better life. Motifs and patterns of Indian design are block printed and painted on contrasted with contemporary designs that reflect the rich culture of the country and my biography as an artist.

I was looking for portrait models and met Noe in a train. After some weeks we met and did a portrait and photoshooting in Darmstadt in July 2018. She is a great model and I love to work with her. She got such a warm and emotional expression and by time also a interesting touch of unruliness in her eyes and face.

"The project that I am currently developing revolves around the concept of crowd, both formally and stylistically as well as conceptually. I'm interested in the multitudinous representation of elements, in most cases characters that usually appear shouting. To increase this overwhelming and somewhat chaotic feeling, the images are located on a white background, which in my point of view disconnects the motif of the environment, focusing all attention on the concept of representation. Lampedusa, is part of this series of works on the crowds; starting from this (and stating that I think each generation has to paint their own screams, and I think the refugees is one of the scream of ours) I tried to capture the anguish and suffering of all those people. In this image there is neither the sea, nor the sky, nor anything that really identifies the image with Lampedusa, but I believe that this is the important thing, to try to focus attention only on the drama and suffering. My painting has been transformed in these years from a new figuration, to a more expressive, gestural painting, where the figurative element is still, but more blurred. Knowing the work of George Condo in New York was undoubtedly one of the starting points of my current project, as well as seeing the works of Cy Twombly, who possesses all the strength and poetry with absolute elegance. “We do not know what this is but certainly it is not what you think it is” is a sculpture that is formally based on the experience of minimalist art, the relationship of body perception and object-architecture relationship according to what is said on the subject by Robert Morris. Excessive size of the object in the gallery space does not allow the object to be viewed in its entirety …
