Black Butterfly Сoncept: This photo series use symbolism to represent: fragile human consciousness influenced by mass media, hypocrisy of the modern society and an average human, who is forced by the system to spend a precious lifetime either on basic survival needs or excessive consumption. Black and white colors are used to emphasize the edge between good and evil, that humanity is balancing on. Bodies in bandages symbolize sick mankind, weakened by prejudices and fears and vulnerable to manipulations. Information is one of the most dangerous weapons now. Like a cosmetic surgeon can change physical appearance of a person, those who control mass media can change the perception of how reality appears to us and create the illusion of freedom and choice

You are floating over the shores of Grace Bay with waves and sand and mermaid's jewels in your sight. The blue tints of translucent tissue paper are layered to give the effect of transparent sea water. Translucent gel builds the froth of the waves to add a third dimensional quality and the umbrellas cast shadows on the sand. Depending on your light source you can tell the direction of the sun; from above it appears to be sunrise or maybe sunset.

Das Gemälde "Der Eklektiker" ist inspiriert durch die Malerei von Willem de Kooning, einem der bedeutensten Vertreter des abstrakten Expressionismus, der neben Jackson Pollock auch als Wegbereiter des Action Paintings gilt. Der Titel des Werkes wiederum bezieht sich auf die Methode des Eklektizismus (von altgriechisch ἐκλεκτός eklektós „ausgewählt, auserlesen“), die sich unterschiedlicher Systeme (z. B. Stile, Disziplinen, Philosophien) bedient und deren Elemente neu zusammensetzt. Der berühmteste Vertreter dieser Richtung war Cicero. Er übernahm besonders in seinen ethischen Vorstellungen im Wesentlichen die Lehren der Stoiker, ließ aber auch Werte der Akademie und des Peripatos einfließen. Im Christentum gilt die eklektizistische Devise des Paulus von Tarsus "Prüft alles und behaltet das Gute!". In der Musik gibt es den Begriff des "Sampling" was für mich in eine ähnliche Richtung geht. Das Gemälde ist 130 x 130 cm und fertig zum Aufhängen.
