◙ This artwork was inspired by Mihai Eminescu's poem "Out of hundreds of masts", more precisely by a recurring verse which sounds like a haunting lamentation "the winds, the waves". ◙ The matching in size "masts" of text included in the artwork (the rhyming "Bethlehem, Jerusalem) make a calligram aiming to also imitate two strings of tears. ◙ The artist uses the fact that the Hebrew language is written from right to left as a metaphor for the change in perspective brought by Jesus during his narrow span of life. ◙ Additional sizes of the artwork (s, m, L and XL), all in limited editions, are also on sale as prints. Contact the artist for up to date information about prices and the still available numbers.

◙ I have become seriously interested in creating art only after an auspicious encounter with a mystic, "uneducated" group of people, in Benares, more than 25 years ago. ◙ Successfully crafting symbolic things or finding and collecting objects from the outer world which metaphorically mirrored their inner preoccupations, was seen by the members of this group as extraordinary events, miraculous encounters with no other than themselves. ◙ Being first exposed to it in an esoteric context, art (in the form of inspiration) never ceased to be for me a modern-day equivalent of revelation. ◙ I now too collect objects (photographically); I also freeze in words flashes from my flow of thinking. Sometimes I work on them, sometimes I combine them, sometimes I just leave them as they have emerged. ◙ Before sharing these outcomes with the outer world I often place them inside black, “sacred”, square spaces.
