About Carlos Montoya Alonso

I am an artist from Madrid who develops his creative activity mainly in the pictorial field, working other plastic techniques if the creative discourse of the moment requires it. Since I was little I conceived that curiosity for the reality that surrounds us, that makes you perceive the need to transform it through art, in order to create new forms of expression that make you feel more human, more alive, and that place you and focus within the world in which we live.

After spending a figurative stage in my first years as a professional, I changed my creative line towards a more abstract proposal, always trying to give an energetic and resounding plastic solution, with enough expressive force. Passionate about painting, I try to develop my creative line within a reflection and exhaustive research, mainly in two-dimensional supports, as a means of transmitting emotions and impressions, which I try to achieve with the dialogue between drawing as a structure and color as a means of expression, within a self-referential artistic line.

Throughout my professional career I have made numerous solo and group exhibitions, both nationally and internationally. With all kinds of samples I feel a little uneasy, because although my creative activity is developed individually within my study, it is curious to observe the anxiety that I get to know the reaction of the viewer, specialized or not, before the contemplation of my works. Sensations that can be transformed into emotions, and these in conclusions, with forms of expression as a communication vehicle of an intimate, very personal inner reality.
