ANIRBAN DHAR ( Born 11th September)
Anirban Dhar, son of Late Ashit Ranjan Dhar (who was a prominent personality in sports from Barak Valley; specially in the field of Football, as well as ex-Football Secretary in DSA, Silchar and when he died was held the post of Governing Body Member of Assam Football Association) and Shibani Rani Dhar, a permanent resident of R.R. Shome Road, House no-2, Ward no-4, Town-Silchar, District-Cachar, State-Assam, Pin-788001. Anirban Dhar is born in Silchar, Assam in 11th September.
Regarding his interest in Drawing and painting, Anirban in his early days was a direct student of torch bearer in the field of Visual Arts of Barak Valley- Late Mukunda Debnath through his enrollment in The Fine Arts Academy, Silchar. Before he went to Department of Visual Arts in Assam University, Silchar; Anirban find his inspiration through the guidance of prominent art personality of Barak Valley Samit Roy. Regarding his higher studies in Visual arts/Fine Arts; Anirban have completed his bachelor degree in Visual Arts (Painting) in 2011 with topper in result and completed his Master Degree in Visual Arts(Painting) in 2013 from Department of Visual Arts, Assam University, Silchar( A Central University established by an Act of parliament) with received Gold Medal Award, Endowment Award, Merit Prize in XIV Convocation, Assam University, Silchar for securing 1st Class 1st position in all semesters of MVA. Then he enrolled himself as Research Scholar in Assam University, Silchar.
Through his art practice; since 2008 Anirban has involved with professional art practice along with participated and contributed extensively in several Art exhibitions, Artists in Residency, Workshops, and camps in major centres of Art in India and overseas. After completing his Master Degree in Visual Arts ( Painting ) from Department of Visual arts, Assam University, Silchar Anirban received the opportunity to worked as Visual Artist in Santiniketan Society of Visual Art & Design (SSVAD), Santiniketan under the guidance of eminent artist Jogen Chowdhury. Through an art workshop in Santiniketan; Anirban received the rare honour to share art practice experience along with the legend artists – K G Subramanyan, Anjolie Ela Menon, Jogen Chowdhury, Arpana Caur, Himmat Shah, K S Radhakrishnan, Manu Parekh, Madhvi Parekh, Sunil Das, Jayasri Burman, Jayashree Chakravarty, Subrata Gangapadhyay, Shuvaprasanna, Sipra Bhattacharjee, Paresh Maity, Chandra Bhattacharjee, Prabhakar Kolte, Ganesh Haloi, Lalu Prasad Shaw, K Laxma Gaud, Sakti Burman, and S G Vasudev. In United Art Fair 2012; Anirban received the honour to share the display with Indian Picasso M F HUSAIN. Along with his career as Visual Artist; Anirban through his research and writings contributed in several International Seminars, conferences, book-publications, journals, magazines and Newspapers. In August 2018; Anirban got married with Rajashree Dutta Choudhury( Visual Artist). At present Anirban Dhar lives in Dehradun and art practices in between Dehradun,Silchar, Santiniketan, New Delhi. Anirban Dhar equally held the post of Assistant Professor in Fine Arts Department in Graphic Era Hill University in Dehradun.
