I started my career in the arts with a Foundation Course in Art and Design at South Devon College, Torquay, in 1982 and went on to study Ceramics B.A Hons at Middlesex University, London graduating in 1986.
I pursued a career in theatre as a prop maker and designer, working at The Haymarket Theatre, Leicester; The Belgrade Theatre, Coventry, The Liverpool Playhouse and The Everyman Theatre, Liverpool.
I ran The Prop Shop, a design, scenery and prop making business and worked for theatres, film companies and a variety of other businesses such as conference planners, country parks, photographers, museums until 1992, when I moved to Holland with my children and partner.
The move to Holland allowed me to start drawing and painting full-time and I exhibited in Leiden, Holland and back in the U.K. I moved to Brixham, Devon in 1998 and exhibited widely within the UK, building a portfolio of imagery and limited edition prints and opened my own gallery in Brixham in 2007.
I have worked as a lecturer in many venues and institutions, with students of all ages, as a lecturer in Ceramics, Mixed Media, Prop Making, Theatre Design, Painting and Drawing. These include Torbay Library Services, Torquay, Brixham Community College, Sandowne College, Liverpool, City College, Liverpool, Knowsely Teacher's Centre. Liverpool, RSAMD, Glasgow, Countryside Rangers, Glasgow and Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council.
I was commissioned by Torbay Library Services to design and illustrate "Book Quest" a reading scheme for children and have been commissioned by many clients to create personnel pieces for them.
