I use pastels, acrylic and oils as my mediums, I like doing studies of landscapes, still life and I try head and figure studies. I have been painting off and on for the past 45 years. I was a member of the Jamaica Artists and Craftsman Guild.

I was part of group exhibitions with the Jamaica Artists and Craftsman Guild, at ther Devon House gallery, this was back in the late 70's. I have not exhibited my works since.
I live in Kingston, Jamaica, I'm 68, I like an ice cold beer on the beach, I love art, my family, life and JAH, I am semi-retired, and as such, I am able to spend more time on my paintings.
I grew up in London England, was a para-legal clerk, at the age of 18 I returned to Jamaica with my parents, I went to Mico College and did a course in Fine Art, I also attended the Jamaica School of Art (part-time) I was a founding member of the Jamaica Artists and Craftsmen Guild. Founded by the late Ralph Campbell.
I stopped painting, when my first son was born, I was a real estate broker, then I was appointed the operations manager for a telecommunications company, I was transferred to Hong Kong, then Panama, I returned to Jamaica and continued in real estate.
My children are grown up and living in the USA, I can afford to spend time on my art.
My technique for painting landscapes, still life and figure/portraits is to do thumbnail sketches first, lay out the main objects and create balance in my values. I have done a few portraits and it's a very exacting discipline, I get to know my sitter, his or her personality, what type of person they are. There's so much detail I try to glean without being too intrusive Not like this "Bio" that I find very tedious and irritating.
I do not claim to have any expert skills or techniques. I simply paint what I see and love.
I have no awards.
none of any importance.
