Artist at Work

I was born in Cles, in Val di Non. I work between Trentino and Milan. Professional since 2006.

My production ranges from direct decoration on plaster of large walls to ceramics.

The technique I use is unique, the result of years of experimentation. I don't apply anything, I develop directly on the surface, by hand.

I was 15 when I started printing, in the shop, with movable type and typographic presses, like Gutenberg and lithographers like Senefelder. Finally, with the advent of digital, I ended the last few years as a graphic designer. 25 years as a printer. At 40, I left the life of a typographer to devote myself to photography. In my opinion more intimate, more creative. A first workshop with Keith Carter and Mauro Fiorese leads me to photography in terms of shooting. A second workshop with them makes me discover the press. I begin to experiment with ancient photographic printing techniques. Meanwhile, the work of two artists fascinates me, they are Man Ray and Jackson Pollock. I proceed with the experiments until I am able to develop a procedure, a summary of other photographic and non-photographic techniques, which allows me to print photographs on entire walls, like frescoes. By hand, with eggs. After tests and experiments I am now able to create photographic works also on ceramics, which I then bake at 980 ° C. What you see is the result of all this. Perhaps the result of the eternal search for a new means of expression, or perhaps just the hidden intention to leave a potentially eternal mark.

They are hand-decorated ceramic tiles with a unique process that I have developed after years of experimentation. No decals or printers, but all strictly by hand. At the base of the technique, chicken eggs.
I use clay, engobes and glazes.
The entire creation process requires 3 cycles of decoration and baking in the oven at 1050/980/960 degrees C., each of 36 hours.
The result is a very hard ceramic that cannot be scratched.

All the products used are of first quality.

It has no problems if exposed to UV rays or bad weather.

It can be cleaned with anything.

Made with Love, in Italy.
