The Milton Resnick and Pat Passlof Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 2015. The Foundation's primary aim is the preservation, exhibition, and publication of works by the Abstract Expressionist painters Milton Resnick (1917-2004) and Pat Passlof (1928-2011), as well as other painters working in that tradition.
The Foundation is headquartered in Milton Resnick’s former studio and home at 87 Eldridge Street in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The building's exhibition spaces are open to the public. The soaring second floor, where Resnick painted his signature works in the 1970s-90s, is maintained as a showplace for Resnick’s work. The Foundation also hosts rotating exhibitions as well as lectures, readings, and other events and programs. The small studio on the third floor, where Resnick made works on paper after ill health made large scale painting impossible, has been preserved as he left it.
At a later date, the Foundation plans to set up a research area where visiting scholars may study the papers of the two artists as well as the photographic archives of their works of art.
