BFA 1989 Cooper Union. Have only made a couple few hundred paintings since then, really need to get to work.
Once upon a time I lavished oil paints on elegant handbuilt wooden panels. These days working with acrylics (they don't stink anymore, neat!!) on birch ply panels.
Irving Petlin, one of my professors at school, said "where others paint about the thing, you are painting the thing itself". Most of my other professors, otherwise scarily articulate, would often generally stare for a bit, and then say "well, I don't really know what it is you are doing here, but I like it very much, and I think you should definitely keep doing it!"
