I am a figurative painter inspired by bygone decorative styles and colourful kitsch. Currently based between South of France and the UK, I am renowned for my technical excellence and obsessive attention to detail.
Hi there – I’m Tiina, artist, painter and a designer. I live and work by the foot of the Montagne Noire, in a crumbling old Maison de Ville that I share with my co-conspirator and an elderly Alsatian called Rusty. When I am not roaming the countryside with the pup or haggling at our local market, you will likely find me in the atelier; brush in hand or sketching out new artwork.
I have been drawing and painting longer than I have been able to tie my shoelaces and I feel incredibly lucky to have been able to turn my passion into a career. Although traditional oil painting is my first love, I am currently working to combine drawing with vintage illustration and other printed media from the beginning of the 20th century. My tendency to collect (or hoard) antique photographs, posters and other quirky things has lead me to develop a style of painting that reflects my passion for old fashioned curiosities and bygone decorative styles. This love of patter, ornamentation and traditional crafts has inspired me to create the art I do, but also helped me when it comes to restoring my century old abode.
